About
With over 30 years of dedicated Japanese-to-English translation and interpreting experience in a variety of fields, including legal, financial, technical, marketing, computer science, and certification, I have consistently delivered accurate and culturally nuanced language solutions. My portfolio includes major interpreting assignments for the US Department of State, contributing to crucial diplomatic interactions.
Of particular note is my decade-long involvement as an interpreter for the US State Department-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). This role has allowed me to facilitate connections between young emerging leaders in Japan and the United States, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
With an extensive 20-year career in U.S.-Japan business, I’ve had the privilege of contributing my expertise to renowned multinational corporations such as Sony, Westinghouse, Toshiba Ceramics, Price Waterhouse and Komatsu, Ltd. This professional journey has provided me with a deep understanding of both cultures, enhancing my ability to effectively bridge linguistic and cultural gaps.
As a native of Japan, educated in both Japan and the United States, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I hold a B.A. from Doshisha University in Kyoto and a dual M.A. from Ohio University in Linguistics and International Affairs.
I am passionate about fostering global communication and collaboration through my language skills and extensive cross-cultural experience.
